Jambalaya Diaries: Saturday, December 15th

The reading of all good books is like a conversation with the finest men of past centuries. -Rene Descartes, philosopher and mathematician (1596-1650)

Hi Pat and David, Catalina, Cindy, Martha, Matt and Matt and John, et al!

Just a very quick thank-you to one and all for the the simply wonderful Open House Chili Taste-Off! What a terrific gathering of delightful friends and customers. We feel particularly grateful to be included in your marvellous community, to share in the remarkable wine and local cheese and bread and brownies and stupendous chili concoctions. I fully understand that in the cut-throat, dog-eat-dog world of Dry Creek wine intrigue and malolactic corrupt politics there must always be a winner, but we kinder, gentler Canadians feel that each entry really and truly deserved First Place! So thanks again for all the hard work and effort and for sharing such delicious recipes!

Have attached some of the snaps I took over the last two fun filled, wine soaked days. Thanks again to everybody for making our visit so enjoyable: a pre-Christmas treat if ever there was one! Both Cora Lee and I wish Famiglia Coffaro and Company a Happy Christmas and a Healthy New Year! Fondestos and Cheers, Patrizzio!

PS: Please feel free to visit us in Vancouver. An open invitation is extended so we expect visitors, with or without wine and chili!

Hi Donna Florida and Cactus!

Busy, busy times here so just a short note. Madame Coriandre wishes to know what you'd like us to bring, in terms of foodstuffs, (vino, obviously!), for tomorrow's dinner with Pat and Amos. (We imagine we will be knocking on your door sometime in early afternoon as we will leave Healdsburg around 11:00am.) She has told them to arrive at Villa Vicente at 6:30pm. Let us know if time is okay and what we can contribute. Fondestos and Cheers, Patrizzio!

Hi P & C,

We have lurched ashore at Villa Vicente this evening and are catching up with local life.  No need to bring anything other than your wonderful selves ( and the hooch of course!)

Ciao,

Donna
