On the other matter about Sandy and Arv, have you talked to your grandparents yet, Chloë? Would like to know as soon as possible about whether we can stay or should plan to continue further east. Not a big deal but would like to know as soon as possible. Need their address in Mesa if we will be stopping by. Thanks. Love to The Sisterhood, Dad/Patrizzio!

Almost like cycling 101.3K!
Hi there

We were wondering if we were going to hear from you...  I didn't get the email from Corrine - but haven't been online to work since we arrived last week - so perhaps it went to my work address.  My gmail account that you have used it by far the best to connect with us.   I haven't thoroughly read through your email - but it sounds like you guys are having a glorious time.   I especially love hearing about all your adventures - as well as Joey's - the cat lover that I am :)

Since you have a alternate date in February, that would work better for us - as we've only been here a week - and are in the midst of just moving into the house ourselves.   We had left all the furniture in the garage, as we've had the entire place tiled - so the place is very dirty - as we clean each room; we then move in the furniture. Henryk is also doing some construction to accommodate our new washer and dryer - that caused more  dust and dirt - due to the cutting of drywall.   Our heater on our pool is still not operational - so no swimming yet - a February visit would allow for all that.  Besides, Pam and Gregg are coming sometime in February - so a joint visit would be good.

we look forward to hearing from you - and especially seeing you both. Happy New Year! L & H

102 points!!! Finally!!!

  • Patrick James Dunn Almost like cycling 101.3K! Congratulations! Join me on The Assault of Box Canyon Road Wednesday morning. Last ride of our stay in Simi Valley! Off to Phoenix to stay with Sandy and Arv on Thursday.

    Hello Louise and Henryk!

Glad you received my email as Cora Lee sent hers to another "Louise"! We will now be staying in Southern France rather than Sun City! Good luck with moving in and minor rennovations. It would be great good fun if we can hook up on return leg of trip, even better if Spumoni and Grog are visiting as well. Will be in touch closer to that time. Imagine we will be leaving Dallas around February 10th.
Imagine we will go as far as Deming on Thursday. Depending on how we feel we might drive further and be all that closer to Dallas.

Fondestos from Cora Lee to you both. Hope to see you in February. Cheers, Patrizzio!

Hi That was quite the email, I must confess I skimmed it, but I will try to get back to read in in ore depth.  I didn't realize you stayed in a house that was not your friends, that is too funny.

Your dates sound great so all I need is your itinerary and we will pick you up at the airport.

Guess what?  I broke the distal end of my right fibula on December 21st.  Needless to say, the Christmas season was a little different.  Luckily I had lots of help and drivers since I can't drive a car.   I have been crutching with Ron and the dog ( by the way she and her dog friend ran into my calf and broke my leg) daily so my shoulders, hands and left leg are in good shape.  Hopefully by the time you arrive I will be walking easily.

From your temporary one legged friend Rhoda

Black bean and corn loaf. This is what day 5 ended with. Almost half way!!! Thank god, I need a drink.
  • Patrick James Dunn Looks wonderful but what about Arv and Sandy? We need a place to stay for Nana to snore the night away, not some cheap, flea-bitten motel room!

Hello Ski and Ronaldo!

Glad you received my email as Cora Lee was starting to fret as only The Sisterhood can! On Monday, January 28th, 2013, we will be on American Airlines, Flight 0919, from Dallas Fort Worth, at 5:45am to Miami, 9:20am, then from Miami on Flight 0687 at 11:15am to land in at Maarten (SXM) at 3:15pm. Perhaps you should send along your address just in case you get the day wrong, Ski! I know this has happened before!!!

Fondestos from Cora Lee to you both. Will chat before end of month but do hope to see you on January 28th! Cheers, Patrizzio!

PS: What about Internet connectivity? Wireless? Laptop? iPad? Should I bring my bike? Just kidding, Ski! What about hootch? I was planning to bring as many bottles of wine as legally possible. What are regulations?

Hi again, Ski!

I apologize for not extending our sympathy about your broken leg! Certainly glad it wasn't much more serious. (I know this isn't quite the same but a close friend of Robo Ray's fell over the side of the trail while hiking to Machu Pichu last year. She lost her balance due to altitude dizziness and almost tumbled to her death. Fortunately she became tangled in some underbrush before plunging to God knows where. Had to be helicoptered to a local hospital before being flown back to Lima and then home. Ray's wife, Sylvia, is her physiotherapist. She sustained massive injuries, I believe everything on one side, not sure which, of her body: shoulder, arm, hip, leg, ankle and more, I suppose. Quit whing about a crutches!) Was so intent upon sending along our itinirary that I forgot about "Chester"! Guess your downhill poles will come in handy now, Ski! Anyway, take care of yourself as we need a fully ambulatory local guide upon arrival! Do your rehabilitation exercises three times a day, every day, while reading my email messages! Now!

Cheers, Il Conduttore!

Good advice and I will not get the day wrong.  However, you are correct, it has happened before!

We are at the American University of the Caribbean.  That is where you will be staying and it is about a 10 minute drive from the airport.  However, do not worry, we will be there!

Just email me a reminder!  Just kidding! Aloha whoops that's Hawaiian! Au Revoir!

Sounds like he is pretty unstable!

Yeah that's Matt dad, delete him.

I did ask, and gramps said he gave you the number. I can get it for you again or you could just call them directly. But gramps thinks for some reason their house will be full, not sure why though??
Hi Patrick. LACMA is a great museum and if you haven't seen the Broad museum of contemporary art there yet, you are in for a treat. Safe travels and have fun especially in New Orleans! It is a unique place with lots of fattening food! Let us know about your return trip in Feb.  Love to all! Trice

Hello Floridians!

Trust you are both well and that that 2013 is unfolding as it should. I hope that Jack is as fit as a fiddle these days. Sorry I've not been in touch sooner. No excuses but plenty of reasons! After all the fussing about where to fly from to St Maarten we've decided that we don't have enough time, unfortunately, to drive to Marcos Island to impose ourselves on you and will use Dallas/Ft. Worth as the airport of choice! I apologize for any uncertainty in your own lives that this may have caused. For my part, I truly did want to continue to Florida but Cora Lee and her VPL Friends volunteer work have come between me and Key West! At least for this trip.

We plan to leave
Simi Valley this coming Thursday, January 10th, to spend a night or two in Sun City, near Phoenix, with friends of Cora Lee's sister, Pamela. Then on to Dallas, by the 14th or 15th, to stay in the condo of friends, Ruth/Randy, who won't even be home! (Another variation on the Goldilocks Scenario! Not sure if you knew that last summer we stayed overnight in the house we understood to belong to my cousin. Nobody was home, door was unlocked and we settled in with friendly pets. Turned out Dallas and Judy had sold the house a few months before we arrived and a car accident had taken owners away for a few days. We became local celebrities very quickly!) They will be skiing in Colorado. Two years ago, when we drove to Mexico, they stayed at our place to ski at Whistler with just Chloë and Maggs, our cat, and Clara and Dusty, to care for them!

Ev Lyn, Cliffs of Moher in Ireland.
Then on to New Orleans by the 16th to stay in Luxury, Sheer Luxury in the Lower Garden District, with friends, Lynne and Peter, flying in from Naramata! You have probably not been watching the weather in NO but according to Cora Lee it might be coolish. To this end she has used this as an excuse to buy a number of sweaters while Power Shopping with Rosie-the-Riveter and Ayn over last few days! I'll have plenty of malt on hand, for anti-freeze, so The Brotherhood should be fine, no matter the temperature! Back to Dallas for a few days with R/R and then to the Caribbean until February 7th. Then back to Dallas for weekend and then homeward bound, via LA to see Ayn and The Lost Burritos before heading to Vancouver.

Sorry to hear about your not coming this year but maybe that is best.  Sounded like you would be pooped by the time you got here.

Put us back on your bucket list for another year.  You might think of flying to Fl. and catching a ferry to the Keys, stay a few days and ferry back.  We could drop you off & pick you up at the Ferry.  I am thinking it leaves from Ft. Meyers.  We have a friend and sister who did that.   I understand you don't need a car in KeyWest.  Acually I am told they have parking problems.

sounds like you are on the move all the time.  Are you trying to see the world in a couple of years?  Thinking you are going to run out of time?

We are having good weather.  Past years we froze because we didn't have warm enough clothes.  Fishing is fun but not very productive.  Haven't even had time to go to the beach.

Got someone at the door. Keep in touch.  Gail
